A good detective begins an investigation by looking for fingerprints. Is there evidence that will tell us who was involved? Do you recall last August how the staff and elders challenged us to participate in a day of prayer and fasting as we sought the Lord’s leading for the church? All of those who participated found it very rewarding.
At that time, we decided that every 6 months we would plan for another time to pray and fast as we seek the Lord’s leading again. This time we are praying for how we may serve our community and share Christ more effectively.
On Saturday, February 24, through Sunday, February 25, we are planning for such a day of prayer; we are calling all to pray for our city. We encourage all who can to fast for 24 hours and to pray for our city. You may drive to Warriors Path…or to a local hospital…or to downtown Kingsport…or to the church and pray for any needs that you see in those places. On Sunday, we will break the fast with Communion and a catered lunch after the 10:30 service.
David Mullins will be with us for the weekend as he begins his ministry with Colonial Heights. This will provide an opportunity for you to visit and get to know him better.
By the way…last Fall when we set the date for this event, we had no idea what God had in store for CHCC. We only knew that He had plans for us…for our good. The date that we set was February 24-25. I am not sure, but that looks like a pretty clear fingerprint to me. Plan to join us. I wonder what is next? “So we fasted and prayed about these concerns. And He answered us.” Ezra 8:23
