Take a look at this great lineup –
“A study of Galatians & Ephesians” by Clifford Andrews in the Sanctuary (6:30 – 7:30 pm)
Come join us as we delve into the Epistles to the Galatians and Ephesians. During this study we will see and discuss what a new life in Christ looks like and how that transformed life creates access into the household of God.
“Gideon” by Priscilla Shirer (Women’s Study from 6:15 – 7:30 pm in room #212) – led by Angie Martin
Gideon: Your weakness. God’s strength. is a 7 session women’s Bible study by Priscilla Shirer. When we hear the name Gideon, most of us think about his 300 soldiers or the fleece he laid out under the evening sky. But Gideon’s story is so much bigger than that—bigger than any one man and his mark on Israel’s history. Like everything else in the Bible, this is a story about God and His people. His love for them, as well as His strength operating in spite of their weakness—even through their weakness. And because God’s people includes you and me, Gideon’s story is also about us—our lives, our doubts, our struggles, and our possibilities as believers. From a state of fear, weakness, and insecurity, Gideon emerged as Israel’s hero, filled with God’s presence and His passion for deliverance. This study will encourage you to recognize your weakness as the key that the Lord gives you to unlock the full experience of His strength in your life. In what ways do you feel insufficient? Those places create the greatest opportunity to experience the sufficiency of God. Instead of ignoring, neglecting, or trying to escape your weaknesses, see them as the gifts that they are, given specifically and strategically by God to unlock the door of God’s strength.
“The Book of James” by Francis Chan (Men’s Study from 6:30 – 7:30 pm in room #211) – led by Bob Ross & Chad Garland
True faith produces fruit. The book of James makes the point that a faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. James also speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. We will use a video series by Francis Chan to complement our study in the book of James.
“Becoming a Contagious Christian” by Bill Hybels (6:30 – 7:30 pm in room #213) – led by Mike Austin & Jim Hawley
Becoming a Contagious Christian, a eight-session, video-based study, is a ground-breaking evangelism training course that equips believers for relational evangelism. It will help you avoid stereotype approaches and will show you how to share the gospel in natural and effective ways while being yourself. Designed by Mark Mittleberg, Lee Strobel, and Bill Hybels, this study will help you identify and develop an evangelical style that is effective for you.
“Discerning the Voice of God” by Priscilla Shirer (Women’s Study-Thursday mornings from 9:30 – 11:00 am in room #212 starting on January 11) – led by Cindy Sproles
A decade ago, Priscilla Shirer authored Discerning the Voice of God, and since then God has continued to grow, teach, and challenge her in her walk with Him. This revised and expanded edition reflects that growth through new stories, illustrations, and exercises. Through 7 sessions, discover the root to clear and daily communication with God – humble obedience. Learn how surrender unlocks His many blessings intended for us, centers us in His will, and helps us discern His voice in everyday life.
