Short Term Missions - 101

As a part of our Missions Emphasis weekend, Colonial Heights Christian Church will be sponsoring a seminar titled “Short-Term Missions 101”. This event will be held Saturday, September 13 from 9:00am till noon. Breakfast will be available at 8:15am for those who want to come early.

Speakers will include Lowell Hunefeld of New Missions Systems International, Wes McElravy and Dante Rutstrom of Colonial Heights Christian, and Dr. Tim Ross of Hopwood Christian Church.

There is no fee for this event though donations may be accepted to help defray costs. We are unable to provide childcare for this event.

Highlights of the event:

Lowell Hunefeld will present an Introduction to Short Term Missions including "Why Should I Go on a Short Term Mission Trip?"

Wes McElravy and Dante Rutstrom, being experienced in overseas missions of the local church, will address fundraising and the What-If's of Short Term Missions. Including questions such as "What if I get lost?", "What if I get sick?", "What if I'm scared?", "What if I don't like it?", etc.

Dr. Tim Ross will focus on coming home from a short term mission trip. He will lead discussion on the question "How do I make my short term mission trip have a long term impact on me, my church, and those with whom I come in contact?"
