The children's ministry at Colonial Heights Christian Church exists to work alongside parents to help children develop a Biblical worldview.  In other words, we want children to learn to think like Jesus.  We do this by providing children with four basic things...

1.  Foundation.  Children need to have a foundation in the scripture.  They need to know what's in the Bible and how to use it. 

2.  Focus.  Jesus knew what His purpose was on this earth and He was not distracted from it.  He maintained this focus by spending time with God in prayer and worship.  Children are perfectly capable of true worship and we give them opportunities to focus on God.

3.  Filter.  We want children to develop a filter through which they make all their decisions and choices.  This filter is founded in scripture and based on a relationship with Christ.  As they mature, we want every decision they make to be consistent with God's principles and commands. 

4.  Faith.  We want children to have faith in all things.

"For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children - encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into His kingdom and glory."     1 Thes. 2: 11 - 12
